[It was the day after Vash had spent a night of "calibrations" inside of Cole's head. There hadn't been very many happy memories. Many of them already fuzzy in his now awake mind, but there was one thing he did clearly remember. He had told Cole that they would do something about those bad memories.
So this is why Vash is knocking on the door marked with the man's name on it with a smile. A pack of cards in his hand.]
Hey there! Thought you might be bored! Do you like to play cards?
[It was to make some good memories and Vash wanted to get started right away.]
[Cole doesn't leave his cell. Cabin. Varric called it a cabin, not a cell. He used to do it for Fenris, but since Fenris visited him, he's not sure if he wants to see him.]
Oh! Hello, Vash.
[He still didn't actually expect company, especially company outside of Elize.]
I don't know. I play Wicked Grace with Varric, but he usually ends up laughing and running his hands through his hair and saying 'Kid, you gotta stop chatting to your cards'.
Never heard of that game before. [Vash grins and chuckles at the mental picture of someone talking at his cards.] I suppose talking to your cards would give away what's in your hand.
It's... like in the dream in my head, and your head. Some times, things have memories and I see them, or hear them, or live them. But, it's everything that was in something strong. And people, people have lots and lots of things, strings, threads, chains and ribbons...
Cole, Cole!! Have you seen the stuff about the new planet? I'm so excited! I'm going hunting later, I don't know if you eat but if you do, would you like any jerky?
Ah, you know what? I was trying to search for a way to describe it, but you're right. It's like a whole planet of you! It's really soothing, I love being down here.
[Riona emerges from her waiting perch, offering Cole a small smile.]
I should just get to the point: have you heard of a demon in the fleet? A man named Tyrion told me about it. It enters into people's dreams, like they do in Thedas. And it... apparently takes the shape of a golden triangle.
The things that happened while you were asleep have made me, um. [this is really hard to put words to] I've got a lot of pain. Right now. And you're Compassion, so I didn't want...I didn't want to walk up to you and cause you to feel any of that.
[If Cole was a human being, Sorey might gently refuse. But...he's a spirit. His nature, his ideals, they're different from a human's. Sorey should respect that.]
If you really want to try, I'm okay with that. I just didn't want to upset you. [Especially after seeing how upset Cole was not to have someone close here.]
[He didn't need to ask where Sorey was. He could hone in on him and track him down, because his sense of compassion was strong enough for Cole to naturally gravitate to him.]
End of Oct 2015 ish

Can you play with a 52-card deck?
no subject
[He blinks and shrugs a little.]
I don't know.

Well, I have a 52-card deck. Would you like to play some games?
no subject
[He rubs his hands over his face.]
Yes. That would be nice.
no subject
[Vash sits near Cole to get ready to play.] Any game you want to play? Or want to try something new? [Vash starts to shuffle the deck he has.]

Video
[Have a very concerned looking Riona.]
Do you have a moment to talk? I've learned of something I think you should know about, if you don't already.

[Sadly, Cole is not as good at reading expressions over the video.]
I'm not doing anything that means I can't talk to you. Do you want me to come to you?

Cole hey, it's me. Sorry if it sounded like I was brushing you off, I just thought this is a conversation better held in private.
I'd like you visit you but I'm worried I might, uh. Hurt you, somehow.
voice
[Cole sounds confused. Because he knows Sorey would never want to hurt anyone.]

I want to help, Sorey. I want to help most people, but I really like you, I want to help make it hurt less. Could I?
