The next day, Cole had woken Dorian up to let him know he was heading out with the Inquisitor. She wanted to go to Emprise du Lion for a few days, which meant being kind to Dorian and leaving him behind and taking Cole instead, since he never minded the cold.

Cole, Solas and Blackwall set out into Emprise du Lion with Cadash.

They were gone for eight days. Not unusual with travel times, but they came back in poor shape. Blackwall's shield was near split in half, Solas was using his staff to aid his walking and Cole was being carried in the cart rather than walking alongside the pony and talking to her.

Cadash was bloodied and bruised and looking the best of then. Which wasn't saying much, but they'd done their jobs and kept her safe. At some cost apparently.

The scouts were saying words like 'ambush' and 'slave caravans, growing the lyrium in them even before the cart drew in through the gates and people started to clamber off.

"Well, your hair is a little damp but otherwise you feel dry enough for bed..."

"You can ... but I do caution you that will work on me like kindling on a flame. You may find yourself with a rather amorous Tevinter."

"Would that be bad?" He didn't know. He wasn't threatened by Dorian's arousal or lust, but Dorian was, a little.

"I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

"Well, no ... I am rather good at being amorous." Yet he still hesitated, because he did not want to take advantage. He sighed, sliding his hand through Cole's hair.

"It is a good kind of uncomfortable, being attracted ... and I know you will say no if I do anything you are not ready for. I am just not sure ... what you are ready for. So what do you want, Cole?"

Cole smiled slightly, brushing his thumb over Dorian's high cheekbone. "You're not going to do anything wrong. But I can't tell you what I'm ready for. Because I don't know what there is, what it will be like. You're going to be how I learn. With you. I trust you."

Dorian huffed out a quiet snort, before he smiled in turn. "All right, if you want to stay naked you can stay naked, and we'll see what you're ready for." He pushed himself up, offering out his hands to Cole, "Up you go, Nug, carefully. Lean on me, all right, and I'll get you to bed."

"My other leg works fine." He stroked his hand down Dorian's neck and chest, then took his hands to pull himself upright. "I just have to keep my weight off this leg."

"Well ... that's good. I hope the rest of you is working fine as well." Dorian murmured, lifting their hands to wrap around his neck, "All right, then weight off that leg, weight on me, and let me distract you with kisses..."

Which he did, as he walked backwards towards the bed.

Cole was happy to be distracted with kisses, letting Dorian take his weight as he hobbled forward. "I like kisses. I like kissing you. It makes me feel warm. In my chest and gut."

"Well then I highly suggest you keep kissing me then..." Dorian murmured, before he shifted to gently ease Cole to the bed. Then he pushed himself back against the headboard, gently pulling Cole into his lap.

Cole didn't waste time with replying, instead going with another soft kiss, then another, and then helping to slide himself into Dorian's lap so his leg was resting and he was curled in close.

So that was how Dorian ended up with a naked Cole in his lap, kissing him softly, so it allowed him to gently run his fingers along Cole's bare, pale skin, feeling muscle playing under are that hard muscle.

Naked but for the towel that he was still wearing. Cole kept kissing softly, relaxing under the soft strokes and touches, sinking into Dorian's body as he did so.

"Dorian. Can I touch you?"

Dorian hummed quietly, distracted by the soft way that Cole's mouth moved around his own. Enjoying the way that Cole curled up atop him. He kept the towel where it was, but he nodded his head just slightly, softly.

"Of course you can."

He would like to touch Dorian's skin, but he wasn't going to ask Dorian to take off his clothing. He went back to softly stroking his throat. He liked how it felt and he liked how Dorian liked it.

When they kissed, Dorian swallowed and Cole felt it through his fingertips and it made him skin feel heated.

See, that was the thing about having one naked person atop a clothed one, when they started to get warm then it was usually time for more clothing to be removed before they over heated.

So Dorian shifted, as Cole stroked his throat, easing out of the top part of his robes, bearing his chest and arms before sliding his hands along Cole again.

"I feel warm," Cole whispered against Dorian's mouth. "Like I'm in the desert. But not burning." He touched along one collarbone, lingering on the point of the bone, feeling an old, old ache from a childhood accident. "Are you warm?"

"Yes ... that's what happens when you start getting intimate. Your blood starts to pump, very fast, warming up your entire body." Dorian murmured, shivering despite the warmth, where Cole's fingers lingered. Broken collarbone, stupid childhood bet of who could climb the statue of the Maker, still ached in cold weather.

"And ... I am quite warm. Inside out."

Cole dipped his head and kissed the old break. Cadash had laughed about kissing injuries better once and Cole wondered if this would help. He liked how smooth Dorian's skin was under his lips, so he did it again.

"If you get too warm, will you take off more clothes?"

Dorian made a quiet noise, fingertips digging slightly into Cole's skin at the soft touch of his lips. He could feel his skin flushing, could feel how warm Cole was in turn. The question caught him off-guard, a breathless laugh bubbling out.

"I think it would be safe to assume that the warmer I am, the fewer garments I will be wearing..."

But he'd have to move to let Dorian strip further. He stopped thinking about it and came up to kiss Dorian's mouth again, then moving to where he had noticed what looked like a piercing in Dorian's ear. He touched with fingertips and then tasted with a delicate flick of his tongue.

Ah. Yes. That would do the sort of thing that would garner the attention of certain body parts below Dorian's finely belted sash. He made a soft groan of, " Maker..", as his hands gripped at Cole's hips. One hand went to silky soft pale hair, and the other slipped right along the curve of Cole's spine, right above the line of the towel. He shifted slightly to pull Cole in closer, but without tugging on his injured thigh.

Dorian liked it, so Cole did it more, slipping his lips around the lobe of Dorian's ear and sucking lightly, tongue pressing to feel the old scar of the piercing.

He still tried to tilt into Dorian's hands.

Well Dorian would be more than happy to let Cole have what he wanted. His fingers moved to the nape of Cole's neck, stroking the fine hair at the back of his neck to encourage those soft sucking bites. The other dared to slip beneath the towel, easing it away from that finely muscled ass. He had warned Cole, he did get amorous when encouraged. Cole was ... Especially Encouraging right now.

And Cole just did that small wriggle, the happy, excited one he got when he wasn't sure what he should do with his body. It took a moment before he thought to apply a hint of teeth, tugging very gently on his earlobe.

Then a sound escaped him as Dorian's hand pushed under the towel and over sensitive skin. He paused, vaguely surprised that that sound had come from him.

All right ...That was going to pull another groan from him. A soft, harsh growl of "Maker's balls, Cole..." His hand slid lower - then stopped as Cole stopped, equally surprised by that noise.

"Did you just ...moan?"
