The next day, Cole had woken Dorian up to let him know he was heading out with the Inquisitor. She wanted to go to Emprise du Lion for a few days, which meant being kind to Dorian and leaving him behind and taking Cole instead, since he never minded the cold.
Cole, Solas and Blackwall set out into Emprise du Lion with Cadash.
They were gone for eight days. Not unusual with travel times, but they came back in poor shape. Blackwall's shield was near split in half, Solas was using his staff to aid his walking and Cole was being carried in the cart rather than walking alongside the pony and talking to her.
Cadash was bloodied and bruised and looking the best of then. Which wasn't saying much, but they'd done their jobs and kept her safe. At some cost apparently.
The scouts were saying words like 'ambush' and 'slave caravans, growing the lyrium in them even before the cart drew in through the gates and people started to clamber off.

When Dorian curled over him, pressing their brows together and his breath against Cole's own mouth, his words didn't mean anything, but he could taste the affection, the want, the all encompassing 'Dorian' of him. His body didn't know the rhythms, but Dorian did and he trusted Dorian and that was enough that he believed him when said he had him.
He came undone with a cry that tried to be Dorian's name and didn't quite get there. The tight wound feeling snapped too taut and released, making his body shiver and his legs kick out, pushing up against Dorian's body. The rush of heat along him, out of him was frightening and thrilling and overwhelmingly good.

He gave him a gentle smile, flushed and warm, his voice quiet, "Are you all right, Cole?"
no subject
He answered by pushing up into a kiss, not a filthy one, just a deep, affectionate kiss where he tried to express things he didn't have words for with the kiss instead.
His fingers stroked down Dorian's spine, letting himself attune to what made Dorian feel good.

He hummed at Cole's hand running down his spine, and he nuzzled in another kiss as his fingers stroked down Cole's shoulder, down his arm, and up again.

It took just a bit of shifting to get himself on his side, his injured leg resting on the bed and he could bring his hands to stroke over Dorian's side and hip as they kissed, and then kissed again.
"Can I touch you," he asked in a whisper.
no subject
He arched into that touch, grey eyes opening at that question. Then he nodded his head once, whispering hoarsely, "Maker, yes ... you may touch me all you like."
no subject
"I want to make you feel like I felt," he murmured into the next kiss.
no subject
One hand lifted up, digging into that soft hair, trying not to grip.
no subject
He liked the kisses best, though, pressing into another one.

He just knew that every inch of his body was coated with pleasure.

He pressed himself as close to Dorian as he could, tilting his face up so he could kiss him.

Dorian exhaled, sliding one arm around Cole's hips to keep him in place, and another into that soft hair. It did occur to him that he had not cleaned himself off -- but that was going to be a bath for a little while later, it seemed.
no subject
He also knew Dorian wanted to clean off, but he was unwilling to move away from him to do it. And from the way he was held, he thought Dorian didn't really want him to stop and move either.
no subject
He would not have, however, bade him to stop.
Words in Tevene floated through his mind, poetry within poetry.

"I didn't know things could be like this." Things. Life. Bodies.

"Are you all right?" He whispered in the near darkness, his other hand still stroking through Cole's hair. It would be so easy for Cole to be overwhelmed ...
no subject
"Yes. I've never felt so real." He stroked along Dorian's ribs, kneading softly. "Thank you. For trusting me."
no subject
"Well ... thank you, for giving me something to trust in." He exhaled slowly, "Will you come to me again, I wonder..."
no subject
He rubbed his cheek against Dorian's chest, cuddling close. "Why won't my eyes stay open?"
